Rauzan Rahman released his much anticipated album, My First Storybook, last Saturday at Speakeasy. Most of the tracks are produced by him and The F Word contributed to one track called Last Page. His 14-track album is really good so if you love some local hiphop, support him and purchase his album now.

Psykelecticz also released The Silent EP last two months and The F Word contributed three tracks to it, namely Soundtrack, Rainman and Poltergeist remix. Go get their EP too.

Resurgance is out this month with a new issue. In this issue, there's a review about my EP, The First Draft, interviews and best of all, they are giving away free demo by The Music Activist. If you're interested in getting a copy of the zine, simply visit www.myspace.com/resurgencezine.

Its been awhile since I updated, but 2007 will see my second work/album On Second Thought definitely. My next single entitled Fymps (dont ask me what it means... haha!) will be out early next month on myspace, so dont miss that one out. I had a blast on both MTV Hiphop Countdown & my 100th show at Esplanade. I have pictures and videos to share, but give me a few more days, I'll upload them both. Thank you to all friends who came down for both shows and not forgetting, to all the organisers who made it all possible. Thank you very much!

Currently, I'm finishing up my album On Second Thought and soon there will be new songs available on my myspace. Last month, we heard Xstatix's Teardrop. This month, I'm going to introduce you to one more rapper and his name is Ishaaq. Coming from the defunct hiphop group Avantgarde, Ishaaq have not been performing for quite some time until we saw him at the first Speakeasy last year. Psykelecticz @ Esplanade

Hiphop Speakerbox last Friday was really fun. I couldn't make it for the sound check due to work, and I thought I couldn't perform that night. But thanks to the soundman and stage manager for their kind understanding. I appeared for a 16 bar feat in Psykelecticz's Poltergeist Remix, done by The F Word, and I had my own 15 minutes set, opening it with Sumthin Sumthin featuring Roze. My school trip to Raffles Institution was really fun. The boys were really supportive and some of them could even rap a couple of verse. Will definately call you guys for Speakeasy someday. I'll be going there again this Thursday, the last of school of school with them. Anyway, thank you guys for tagging at my board. You guys rocked too! :D

This Friday, 13th October, I will be performing at The Waterfront, Esplanade with my BS team. The event is called Hiphop Speakerbox and its in conjunction with The Esplanade Dans Festival. There will be two sets, one at 6.45pm and another one at 8.15pm. Line-up would consist of Rauzan, Krazie Starr, Richard, Zul Mystroe, Psykelecticz, the beautiful Roze and ofcourse ME! Admission is FREE, so bring a lot of people and pack the place up. Dont forget to bring your cameras aight? Seeya there... Peace! :)

My performance at Bedok Reservoir last Saturday was aight. To those who came, I'm so sorry, I should have inform you earlier that I was not going to do my song. I only did the Northeast CDC theme song. So sorry. Next week, I have a show at The Waterfront, and FreakyZ is going to do his songs, not the neighbourhood boy Fazli. Hehe!

Anyway, Rauzan accompanied me on stage as my hypeman. Thank you Rau. I had fun ofcourse, but the best part was when I saw my lyrics at the back of the hand fan that was distirbuted around. That was really cool. I even got an autograph segment. Haha! Thank you Northeast CDC. If you like to hear the song, its on myspace right now.

Tomorrow I'm going to Raffles Institution for the school to school program. Will take pictures and upload them up as soon as possible. Wish me luck... :)

Next week, in conjunction of The Dans Festival, the whole BS squad will be performing at The Waterfront, Esplanade. The event is called Hiphop Speakerbox and there's two part of it. If you dont know these guys, then you should quit hiphop. Seriously. Xstatix has been one of the most low profile hiphop group in the scene but everytime they come up with something new, they always bring it to another level. From shows with a video backdrop to live beats at Hiphop Hurray III, these guys are crazy. Straight from their family XS:1, who's currently working on their 2nd compilation release, these guys are back with a new track entitled Teardrop. Go check it out at their myspace, www.myspace.com/xstatixhiphop. The beats are produced by The F Word and it contains a sample of Massive Attack's Teardop. I'll be performing at Eunos Petal Gardens, Bedok Reservoir, next week on Saturday 30th September. Guest of honour for the event will be our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The event is organized by Northeast CDC. Come down if you're free...

The fasting month or Ramadhan is here (tomorrow actually!). So I won't be having much shows this coming few weeks. After the Northeast CDC event, I have one more show at the Esplanade in conjunction with the Esplanade Dance Festival which will be on 13th October. Then after that, no more shows until 30th November @ MOS (woohoo!) and my 45 minutes set at The Waterfront on 1st December (double woohoo!). Really looking forward to see you people there!

But having no shows does not mean I'm not making anymore music. I'll be uploading songs up on my myspace to get you hyped up for 1st Dec. I'll even put up the lyrics now. For those who dont know what the address is, its www.myspace.com/mrfreakyz. Do add me up if you have an account. There will be more songs, news, pictures and trailers coming up. Go check it out!

My 10 track EP 'The First Draft' is available in stores now. Its available at HMV (Regional Section) and Earshot Cafe along with Krazie Starr's EP 'Black with a lil bit of Purple & Green'. A lot of people are still asking me about the pictures of my Korea trip. Well, there are just too many pictures to upload. So for those who did not come for the last Speakeasy, (better come for the next one... hehe!) well here's a short video of my Korea trip. Enjoy!

I do not have any upcoming shows yet, but there's one show I am seriously looking forward to. On 1st of December, I will be performing at the Waterfront, Esplanade for a 45 minutes set. Woo hoo! The First Draft...

Dear readers (especially fans.. hehe!)

I am having a small launch of my mini album entitled The First Draft this saturday, 2nd September, at the Earshot Cafe, The Arts House. For those who dont know where it is, its actually the previous venue of Speakeasy. Still dont know, hmmm, its minutes away from City Hall and Raffles MRT station , and the nearest landmark would be Fullerton Hotel. If you still have no idea, I hope this site will help you. :)

I will part of the new event, Kata Orang and it starts at 5pm sharp, so dont be late. You wont want to miss a single thing. Admission is free and my cd is going at only $10. So spread the word, show some love and come down for my launch. Bring friends and pack the place up. Oh, by the way, space is limited, so early birds get good seat.

For those who read Strait Times today, you would probably read an article about me. It says about my album release in September, so do look out for that. Next two weeks, Beats Society will be having Speakeasy, and it marks the show's 1st anniversary. I will also be performing at Velvet Underground on the 29th. Anyone interested to come you can email me your particulars, and when I get back I will contact you. More updates when i get back from Korea.

Da Show Case 2, last Saturday, was the bomb. The more than 8 hour show saw more than 400 people coming down. Thank you DeJahvoo Production for the opportunity, and I hope to work with you guys again.

My two day set was really fun. Thank you to all friends who came down to support all the acts. You people are the craziest. To Bless, Shino and Jay One thanks for the collaboration, you guys are the illest. Roze, we've got Sumthin Sumthin up our sleeves definitely. Rauzan, you're my new hype. Hehe! OK, I'm feeling the Grammy award speech now. Pictures and videos will be up. Will update more later.

My performance at D'Marquee last sunday was aighttttt. I will be part of 'Its Sexier To Say No' campaign this weekend and you can see me perform at West Mall, Bukit Batok. Its at 10am, hehe! But if u stay nearby and you're feeling a Mc Donald breakfast at West Mall, then come and watch me ok. I hope there's Mc D there. ;)

FreakyZ on Resurgence...

The charity show at *Scape yesterday turned out fun despite a very quiet Saturday. I appeared with my band The Funkus along with Roze, Bless & Shino. For those who missed it, dont worry. I have a video recording of it thanks to Zaheed, and I'll post it up when its ready. Thank you to all friends who came down and not forgetting Ida for inviting The Funkus once again. :)

Do I have to stress to you on how important Speakeasy is? It's my baby. Haha! Yes, Speakeasy comes back after a month's break at a new location, The Glass Hall of the Singapore Arts Museum. This month is definitely a not to be missed show because the line up is made up of the best from every active hiphop 'families' in Singapore. On top of that, we also have Soul Caress who will be appearing on the brand new segment 'Fresh'. There will also be some new elements added to the show like live visuals by PlayPause, Beats Society's designers. But on top of all that, the host is still the same, ME! ;)

If you have problems getting to The Glass Hall, you can check out this website for more information. The nearest MRT stations would be Dhoby Ghaut or City Hall, and it will take you about 10 minutes to walk there. When you are there, just follow the signs (or sounds) to The Glass Hall.

Earshot celebrates its 1st year anniversary tomorrow, and they will be having a small birthday show to commemorate the occasion. Beats Society is invited to perform as we have part of them since September last year, with the popular monthly show Speakeasy. (Speakeasy is next 3 weeks by the way! Yeay!) Imran, Psykelecticz and I will be performing tomorrow. Entries are for invited guest only.

On Saturday, do not miss the Noise concert. Acts from last year's Noise Festival such as Xscapist, Da T-Squad, Comic Strip and etc, will be performing. Milkrun 2006

MILK Run 2006 will be held on Sunday 2nd July at the Zouk Carpark between 1.00pm and 6.00 pm. Races flag off from 3.00 pm.

The MILK Run is Beyond's main fundraiser and annual Youth Day Celebration and draws a 10, 000 strong crowd from schools, youth organizations, corporates and other community partners. It is a part of the MILK Fund and the fund-raising target is $1 000 000. Previously known as the Streetwise Run, it has been held on every National Youth Day since 2001.

Race day will be one big party for everyone. Whether you are a serious competitive runner, a fitness buff, a fun runner or a supporter, there is something for you. The celebration includes 8km and 5km races with special categories for VWOs, a Community Run, a youth parade, concert and bazaar.

The Race starts & ends at Jiak Kim Street, and takes runners along the Singapore River.

Killer Weekend...

KidsZone at the Big Splash was so happening, even though I expected more people because tickets were sold out. But the crazy weather didn't stop all the audiences from having fun. My set started off from the bigger stage, and to my surprise the SFB-ians helped me on Papa's got a New Wife. Then next was Same Woman Again, and a lot of them were singing to the song. Haha! That was fun! Thank you to all those who came and not forgetting RIA 89.7fm. Especially Fiza O and Kak Shai! You gals are the best!

I got my first present from an audience too that day. Special thanks to adik Syaie & Haziq. Thank you so much! :)

Hiphop Hookup was very successful. For a moment, on Friday, I thought that show was not that happening, but Saturday and Sunday proved me wrong. Thank you to all my friends who came to support. The whole three days was super fun. I ended up hosting the show with help from Aiman of Public Eyez. Styles from Beyond and Zul Mystro are of course the highlights of the show. Congratulations to SFB for winning 1st price in the dance competition in Taipei. Public Eyez and Richard are of course the illest, they rocked on every one of their set. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sandra and Fazil from Esplanade (even though I know they are not going to read this) and not forgetting Beats Society for having a lot trust in the all of us. Thank you so much! :)

I had a killer weekend, running from Zouk to Big Splash to Esplanade, for my shows. It was so tiring, but of course it paid off. All the shows rocked! Speaking of Zouk, Psykelecticz is performing this Tuesday at the Velvet Underground for a poetry slam gig. Come down and show your support. Not forgetting on 2nd July, Sunday, Milkrun will be held at the big open space in front of Zouk. Public Eyez and I will be performing with the military band from Pasir Ris Crest Secondary School. I won't be performing with The Marilyns unfortunately at Rock D' Fort this weekend due to my very tight schedule. But please do support the event. :)

Next week, I will be appearing at two events.

1 - 24th June 2006 - Kidszone, organised by RIA 89.7fm, at the Big Splash. Line-up will be ME, Syed Azmeer from Anugerah, Dina from Malaysian Idol and many more. The event is held from 2pm - 6pm. There will be flea market stalls too, so all you flea market enthusiast, please come down. Tickets are $2, selling at Muzika Records and the door itself. Niwae I will appearing on RIA next week to tell you more bout the event and myself. Hehe! So do tune in ok.

2 - 23rd, 24th and 25th 2006 - The Hiphop Hookup, organised by Beats Society, at the Esplanade. The exact venue will be at The Concourse aka The Living Room, (If you're confuse, ask for directions k). Line-up would be ME, Public Eyez, Richard, Zul Mystro and Stylez From Beyond. Rock D' Fort...

Be blown away by the raw energy of Rock D'Fort! The sequel to 2005's highly successful Rock On Singapore event, Rock D'Fort presents an all new line up of fresh, bold sounds for those who live life on the edge. Appearing for the first time in Singapore are Bamboo (the Philippines), New Pants and Re-TROS (China) and Rock Tigers (Korea). Representing the creative and diverse sounds of the local scene are bands like Fatskunks, Tiet, Ugly in The Morning and more.

In addition, new acts will get their chance to be discovered on the outreach stage at the Fort Gate. On 3rd of June, Saturday, we mark the last Speakeasy at the Earshot Cafe. It would have been a good 10 months that we've spent at the Arts House so for the last one, we're putting up the Top 5 from PLATFORM 6 for a special showcase. Line-up would be Akeem, Crazie Star, Farhan, Urbanize, Armen from THOA and Kozzy. This is definitely an event not to be missed. On top of that, we'll be informing you the whereabouts of the new venue for our brand new Speakeasy coming in July. So if you're free, do come early, as space is limited. Event starts at 6.30pm. Venue: The entire Substation complex, including The Guinness Theatre, The Gallery and The BlueRoom. A bar will be set-up in the BlueRoom, courtesy of HomeClub.

A 13-hour fundraising event for MusicForGood that showcases music made in Singapore (and two Malaysian bands). From 3pm, there'll be screenings of Singapore music videos, Singapore short films(that incidentally feature the acting talents of local musicians, a photo exhibition of local gigs/bands, plus performances by Concave Scream, Astreal, Stoned Revivals, Lunarin, KLPHQ(KL), Couple(KL), The Marilyns, Seven Sundays, Lilac Saints, ETC, Peepshow, Life Without Dreams and hip hop acts! The party will end with PopTart and PopMyCherry! spinning simultaneously in both the Guinness Theatre and The Gallery respectively till late.

There'll also be a charity auction where fans can bid for a dinner date with Linda Ong (Lunarin) or Ginette Chittick (Astreal) right after their respective bands' performances. The dinner date is sponsored by Earshot Café by 1827 Thai Restaurant at The Arts House and will be on May 20, during an acoustic gig at the cafe. Winners of the auction will also receive an exclusively autographed copy of the For Good! compilation CD

Yes, yes, ya'll... The first Saturday of this month is this weekend and you know what time it is right? Speakeasy!!! One of the most happening monthly hiphop gigs this year. For this weekend, we'll have Bless, who was last seen at Totally Booked Geylang East last February, and he made all of us wanting more with his rhymes and soothing voice. We will also have Ishaaq who was an ex-member of AvantGarde, now still writing, making music and this would be his 2nd appearance at Speakeasy. Remember Sheikh&Syed back in the first installment? Then we have Xstatix who wowed us at Hiphop Hurray III with their live set, back to spit some serious rap shit. Last but not least, we have Da Fam which consist of Dual Flavaz, Will's Invasion, Chaz Ali and many more. I can't wait to see all of them in action. So do come down and show some love for these guys. And if you're above 21, don't forget the election. Hehe!

Platform 6...

PLATFORM 6 was a blast!The event started 45 minutes late and caught up on time halfway. We had over 500 guests at dbl O where it was hosted, and some had come as early as 1pm to ensure tickets! 25 soloists and groups perfomed in groups of five and we were entertained by awesome guest performances especially Phatnatrix and DualFlavaz whose show were so phat, the club's soundmen were rocking away. There were the inevitable technical hiccups but there was also some unexpected surprises like the appearance of the judges; Taufik Batisah, Syed Azmir and Yasz of The Soul Purpose. Syaheed of Bedsty had also joined in later to give his two cent's worth. ThreeFlow basically brought the house down with the closing show. The Top 5 was named Akeem (triple whammy!! He also won Best Stage Presence and Overall Performance), and the other four were The House of Anonymous, Farhan, Urbanize and Crazie Starr. We'll definitely see more of them from now on! Thank you to all who made it possible!

Rest In Peace, Proof...

Proof, a member of the Eminem-fronted Detroit-based hip-hop sextet D12, was killed early Tuesday morning outside a Detroit nightclub in a shooting that left another man in critical condition.

According to a spokesperson for the Detroit Police Department, Proof (real name: DeShaun Holton) suffered a gunshot wound to the head at the CCC Club on East Eight Mile Road, near Gratiot Avenue. By the time police arrived just after 5 a.m., the club — which was operating illegally, after hours — had been cleared out, but several witnesses have come forward to discuss the incident with investigators.

The police spokesperson said only that "an altercation occurred [inside the club], and shots rang out," but would not discuss the shooting further, as the 32-year-old rapper's next of kin have not yet been notified.

Both victims (the other man's name has not been released) were transported to hospitals; Proof was rushed to St. John Holy Cross Hospital, while the second victim, who is 35 and also sustained a gunshot to the head, was taken to St. John Hospital, where he's listed as being in critical condition. Proof was pronounced dead on arrival.

Proof, Eminem's longtime friend, appeared in the film "8 Mile" as Lil' Tic; he also served as Eminem's best man when the rapper remarried Kim Mathers in January. Eminem filed for divorce last week.

Police are searching for the suspected gunman; a description has not been made available. Detectives have asked that anyone with any information on the shooting come forward.
The shooting is the second in three months to involve a member of Eminem's inner circle. Em protégé Obie Trice was shot and wounded New Year's Eve while riding with his girlfriend along a Detroit freeway; police have yet to make an arrest in connection with that incident, which remains under investigation. One of D12's original members, Bugz (real name: Kornail Pitts) was shot and killed on May 21, 1999, during a picnic at Detroit's Belle Isle Park.

According to the Detroit Free Press, several Detroit hip-hop DJs, radio personalities, rappers and producers, as well as Eminem and Obie Trice, planned to meet with Proof's family at the hospital on Tuesday morning (April 11). D12 was set to begin work on its third album this month.

So, finally, the day has come for Platform, an annual hiphop talent search program. I was from Platform 2 btw, and now its the 6th installment. And i'm so happy to be part of it still. This time, i'm just a guest performer. But the real hype is all about the new rap artistes coming out from this event. I have a few favourites tho, but u have to check out all of them, trust me, the event is gonna be a blast. I wish all them all the best for their performances!

The event is held at Dbl O, Saturday 22nd April. Doors open at 2pm and tickets are at only $10, inclusive of one drink.

HipHop Hurray III was a blast!!!

Time passed by so fast, and the two days of Hiphop Hurray III are already over. No doubt, this is the best Hiphop Hurray so far, and i'm so proud to be part of it. All the performers were off the hook, i must say. My personal favourite would be Xstatix ofcourse, who did a freakin dope live set. Our guest artiste, ThreeFlow, were amazing too. Mad love for them from SG.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Beats Society, Music For Good and Esplanade for making the event possible. Localbrand for the tee. And to all those lovely people and friends who waited for me to perform, thank you so much for ur support. I love u people!!!

Psykelectics

These boys went from 'copycats' to the real deal in jus a few years. Psykelectics biggest break was probably the Black Eye Peas : Rap For A Cause competition, which they won first. Since then, they have created a name for themselves in the local hiphop scene. Most of their tracks are produced by Gotbeats Foundation, mainly by the talented J'y'Reste and also by The F Word. Their songs like 'Poltergeist' and 'Foreign Films' are among the local's favourite and undeniably the few best songs the local hiphop scene have heard. Lyrically, these boys are lyricist at heart, and, trust me, u wont want to miss their showcase at Hiphop Hurray this weekend. This is also the first time the boys will be performing at the Waterfront, Esplanade. Show some love for them people!

XstatiX

Straight from the As.One Family contingent, Xstatix is one of the strongest crew in the local hiphop scene. These three lyricist were together since 5 years ago, and still making music staying true to hiphop. Xstatix was last seen at Totally Booked Geylang East library, and their performance was surpassingly excellent. A lot emcee/crews have tried to sound like them these days, but none can be compared to this pioneering crew. Their beats are mainly done by Gotbeats Foundation main man behind dope samples, The IZA. This is certainly an act not to be miss this weekend.

Velvet Groove

Velvet Groove's main man, Razil, has gone a long way and finally found his style in this crew. Velvet Groove made a huge impact at Platform 5 with a captivating performance and they were nominated the top 5 in the annual rap talent search. No doubt, Razil's silky smooth voice mixed wif Ollie's rap flows are a perfect combination. Their melodious and catchy Hiphop/R&B beats are mainly produced by Sazery and also by the multi talented Razil. Velvet Groove was last seen at Smashd, an event organised for The Straits Time pocket fund, and their set was splendid. If u like to party, then these boys are the one u're looking for. They are off the hook.

Sleeq

These two young gentlemen are not only charming wif their looks, but they are extremely talented. Alyph is the main man in the music production of Sleeq, under the monicker Magic Potion and it is, no doubt, making waves in the local hiphop scene. Syarif on the hand, recently joined the Singapore Teen Idol competition and he came in 2nd runner up, but he really has a great voice. On a personal note, they are cousin actually. Sleeq is definately one of the hiphop / r&b crew to look out for tis year, and u'll be dissapoined if u miss their set this weekend.

Nthral

Nthral's biggest break was probably when he won the 50 cent rap-alike competition held in 2003. Later he emerged again in the popular local hiphop talent search, Platform 4 in 2004 and he came in 2nd. But, he was one of the crowd's favourite at that time and his music were really² good. Nthral have not been performing for quite some time, due to tight schedule, but i bet alot of people out there are eagerly waiting for him to perform again. Hiphop Hurray this weekend is definately a big comeback for him, so show some love and catch this talented solo emcee in action.

Public Eyez

Wat more can i say? Public Eyez have the sickest flow among many crews in the local hiphop scene. These boys are among the pioneering acts still standing strong since 5 years ago with a single purpose, to entertain the audience. Songs like 'Futuristic' and 'Last Goodbye', which was sampled from the late Sudirman, are among the popular songs they have and are definately the local's favourtite. Most of their beats are produced by Ferkazz. They were last seen at Smashd, and their set was off the hook. U cannot miss them this weekend.

Psykelectics, Xstatix, Velvet Groove and me are performin on Saturday, 25th February. Sleeq, Nthral and Public Eyez will be performin on Sunday, 26th February. Both shows start at 7.30pm. Dont be late! U wont wanna miss a single thing. :)

HipHop Hurray III

The day some of u have been waiting for...

Hiphop Hurray returns this Saturday, 25th Feb, for the third time and FreAkyZ is part of it alongside some of the best in the local hiphop scene. The event organised by Music For Good and Beats Society is held at The Waterfront, Esplanade for two consecutive day. Saturday's line-up will be Psykelectics, Xstatix, Velvet Groove and FreAkyZ. On Sunday, we'll have Sleeq, Nthral and Public Eyez. Guest artiste, Three Flow (from Kuala Lumpur) will make appeareance on both days. This is definately an event not to be missed. Expect different styles of hiphop and whole lotta fun with the performers.

Totally Booked last Friday was not as happening as the last one held there. The sound system was really bad, and some of the rappers couldnt hear themselves or the music. But its all good, we still have one more coming up next month , and we hope it will turn out great and more people would be there. Highlight of the show was probably Bless, who's lyrics really touched alot of audiences. Psykelectics and FreAkyZ made a special appearance for the Switch Segment. I had to do their song, and they had to do mine. Whaha! It was a lil messy, but i had fun, and i bet the guys did too.

Next month's Totally Booked will be at Tampines Regional Library on the 17th March. Be there!

Ok, for those who kept asking what was i doing at ITE Clementi, let me explain. The students there had some project to do, and they invited Imran to give them an inspirational talk bout starting their own business. So Imran talked bout Beats Society, plus all the relevent topics, and then he had to introduce one of his artiste, which fortunately, was me, FreAkyZ.

I had a superb time performing at ITE Clementi, even though it was jus a small gig. The people there were really friendly and supportive. Thank you so much for having BS and me there. Hope to see ya'll ard at my other shows.

It was raining when we started the show, so all the items were shifted under the shelter at Caltex House. The palm reading was like the main attraction actually, compared to me and the t-shirts. But its aite, cos i had fun performin. Saw a few familiar faces.

Yes yes people... Localbrand is having a showcase today infront of The Caltex House, Raffles Place. And ofcourse, their signed artiste, FreAkyZ, is performin today. There will be two showcases. One at 12noon and one at 5pm. So if u're around the area do drop by alright. :)

Speakeasy V... What more can i say?

Earshot has become my new chill out place every first Saturday of the month. I feel safe and home there. Haha! Speakeasy V rocked. What more can i say? The event gets better everytime and i hope it maintains tat way.

SD did a great set. They had one song acoustic while the drums are already programmed. Nice! Maybe Speakeasy should have an acoustic special. Hehe! Niwae they also featured a young lady, and she was really good. I made the guy who rapped in Malay to speakeasy, and he did it really well. Great job by SD!

Lee-Rocka was back to show the people wat he was made of again. His darks beats were a little dull, but he did good lah. I hope he will still write while he's serving his NS soon. Good luck Wayne!

Phique was really good. She was like so enthusiastic although i could see that she was really nervous. But she pulled it off, wif a lil bit of hiccups. Hehe! Mie came in later so hyped up cos its been so long since he last held a mic. He did the D&B remix version of the track, and it was superb. The new rap couple is in the house ya'll. Beware! Hehe...

Lefttool had some Neptunes kinda track for his set, but one of his tracks produced by Rauzan was really off the hook. New producer on the lookout. He featured Rauzan and Richard on his 2nd song, and he even wanted to take off his shirt towards the end of the song. Haha! That was funny! But its all good. We all had fun...

Lastly, GotBeats Foundation, rocked the place up wif their beats on the open mic segment. J'y'Reste and Zulu collaboration was perfect, and saw many emcees came up to the front to spit a verse again. Aging Youth Production and Esplanade is organizing a 3 day event @ The Waterfront, Esplanade startin today. Today's line up consist of B'Vintage Flav'r and Ko Lab, so all hiphopheads be there if u're free. Saturday's would be Camra, Page and also one of my fav band in SG, B-Quartet. Last but not least on Sunday, there will be The Love Experiment and also another fav band of mine, Lunarin. The show starts at 7.30pm sharp. So dont be late if u wanna catch this great line-up. Psykelecticz will also be performin at Bugis Junction tis Saturday at an event called Fundraising For A Cause. Time is not known yet for now, but if u're around tat area and u hear some rap music, jus follow it. Hehe...

And if u're around town/Somerset tis Saturday between 10am - 6pm, check out the launch of the new Skate Park. There will also be a skate and bmx competition held there too, so do check the stunts.

Mix & Match: Imran Ajmain, went smoothly eventhough the weather played a lil hide and seek at first. Few people didnt make it for the show cos they tot it was goin to rain, but to those who came, thank you so much. U guys are the best! Especially my friends and all those hiphopheads. Thanks!

Imran's intro was the killin song. He came out on stage wif full confidence and sang the song entitled Imtro. For those who are close to him, and heard his lyrics, u probably had goosebumps like i did. His lyrics were straight from the heart. Some of Imran's track sang on tat nite were produced by Taufik Batisah. One by me, one by Alyph, and the rest would be his own producer. We did the brand new track Sumthin Sumthin and it was aite. I hope i'll have a chance to do tat song wif him again soon. Roze sang a cover If I Aint Got You, and no doubt, she's got one of the best voice i've heard in SG. She might be joinin Singapore Idol tis year, so people, do check her out. Sleeq came next, and ofcourse Sharif showed what he was capable of wif his silky voice. Alif's rhyme were really good, and his punchline made everyone laugh. Talented young man, indeed. Ali came later wif his guitars and played Satu Malaya. Ali is a member of The Funkus btw. Imran closed his set wif his first single Kata Orang, from his upcoming album which will be slated out tis year. More news on the album soon.

SpeakEasy IV rocked!!!

Last Saturday, i had two show. Well, one was a last notice gig. The show was an anti-smoking show and it was held at Jurong Point, Boon Lay. The journey in the train was kinda long k. Niwae, i didnt know it was a Malay show until i reached the area. The hiphop line up was Chaz Ali, Richard, Alif, Zul, SFB, Velvet Groove and ofcourse me. I only had to do one song. But it was all good, cos i had fun.

Later tat evening, it was time for SpeakEasy. I've been excited bout the event since last year k (which is like 2 weeks ago.. hehe!). And the whole show turned out better than i expected. The show was specially for the platformers who was balloted to perform. All of them did really good, especially House of Anonymous whose hardcore rap music made alot of people stood up to their set. Tat was crazy.

FLK and Apiz ILM were one of the first act to perform. They were good. Apiz ILM even had a spoken word recital bout mats (male gangster) and it was really good. Despite having a sore throat, Apiz still sounded good on the mic. Infact, he sound a lil bit cooler... Haha!

Greta Georges appearance wif her poetry slam was definately sumthin different. She was freakin quick k. She could talk non-stop k. Haha! She had to freestyle with me bout being a book. I had to freestyle, but Greta's none rhyming freestyle killed me. Haha! And btw, she's really hot. We need more poeple like her at Speakeasy. Haha...

Nick from Muon brought the show into another direction. His beats were off the hook. At first i had to walk around to pick anyone up to rap/freestyle over his beats. But when he played his beats, i couldnt control myself and so i started the ball rolling by dropping a verse. After tat, one by one, emcees came up and grab the mic to spit. Tats was one of the craziest shit i've ever seen k. I think next month, we might have tat again. Btw, Nick's bass is the shit! Mad props to him.

Dual Flavaz closed the whole show on a high note. After been missing in action for awhile, they came back wif a great set. Their beats were off the hook too and their flow was sick. Definately a good start for them this year.

The show was hosted by me and Imran, and it was more fun to have two host actually. Imran even gave a lil preview of his show which is gonna be held this Saturday, 14th January at the Waterfront, Esplanade. So people, pls come down if u're free. I got my first Localbrand tee and i wore it tat day. Thank you to T from Localbrand. Woo hoo!

Thank you to those who came. Pls dont stop coming to Speakeasy. Next change would be 4th February. Yeay!

On new year's eve, i hosted a show at Cineleisure and it was totally fun. The countdown was like 7 mins late, but hell, it was all good. Haha! The bands tat played were really² good, especially Lunarin and ofcourse the main highlight of the show, The SUNS. Both bands are coming out wif an album early tis year, so people, support ur local acts, buy their cds. It should be available at HMV. Support local!

For those who are lookin forward for a hiphop gig, the first hiphop gig of 2006 is coming up tis Saturday. Yes people, Speakeasy returns for the fourth time, same time, same place. OK, for those of u who dont know, its held at the Earshot, Arts House, and the event starts at 6pm. Nearest MRT station would be City Hall and Raffles Place. So people, pls dont late.

Last Friday, i had my Totally Booked show at Jurong Library. Its the last BS show for tis year and also the last series of Totally Booked. The place was very chill out and cool, jus like the Earshot. The show started off wif Will's Invasion. All their beats are produced by me, but i loved their last song, when Aisha sang. She's got a good voice, plus she's really sweet. Divine Aura launched their zine too, and for those of u, who couldnt get ur hands on it, or forgot to, dont worry, cos they will be sellin it again. For more info visit their website at, www.divine-aura.com. After tat, Platform 6 special came to the stage, Urbanize. They're really good and hype, and definately a must see group in Platform 6. Then it was Public Eyes set. Their new song, feelin Beastie Boys, was damn dope and off the hook. I loved it so much, but the song stopped halfway due to technical difficulties and DJ's itchy hands. Hehe! But its all good. Richard came up next, wif a powerful intro song, Face It. It was lyrically good and his flow was tight. Last but not least, me, FreakyZ. I featured Shinobi on the first track, Young, brand new from The F Word. Shino kicked off wif his sickest flow and lyrics ever, and then came chorus, and after tat it was my turn. But alot of people loved the whisperin part. "You better give up, cos u know u suck!". Haha! After tat, i did my other songs and the show was wrapped up. Here are some pics.... Enjoy!

Last Saturday i hosted SpeakEasy III, and it was fun. The event started off slow, but the opening act Farhan did a great job. The first CD giveaway was a question, not a single soul down there knew wat the answer was. So i came up wif a silly question, and gave the cd away. Hehe! After tat, the event went smooth. The rap battle part was kinda cool. Chaz Ali VS Emzee. Both are good, and not forgettin, big size. They could bloody squash me to death. Chaz Ali emerged as winner cos he was a better freestyler. But, its all good. Thank you to all the people who came and supported. U're the best!

SpeakEasy IV will be back on 7th January 2006. I dont know who is in the line-up, but i do know who the host is. ME! Whahaha! Yes yes, ladies and gentlemen, i am goin to be the host, and it might be permanent. I guess i have to brush up on my hosting skill from now. Hehe! So do come down for SpeakEasy IV ok people!

The next day, Sunday, I had my set wif The Marilyns, at the Pesta Raya 2005 held at The Waterfront, Esplanade. I had loads of fun k. I had to do 2 repeated set of the song Teman. And both were great. The whole concept of the show was dikir barat, percussions and The Marilyns. I personally think the event was very² good. It should have been done during the raya season. But hey, people are still celebrating raya until today, so who gives a damn rite. Niwae i would like thank The Marilyns again, for invitin me for the great show. I hope to work wif u guys again. Mad love dudes!

Everybody's listening to FreAkyZ...

I did my 57th show Local Brand Fashion Show at Playden, Arts House last Monday night, thanks to the organizer Local Brand and also BS for choosing me for their hiphop line up. It was freakin amazing k. I must say it was my best set eversince Beats For Peace back in 2003. I did a new version of Loose Words which had some trumpets in it, haha, my fav sound for the moment. The crowd loved my punchlines, but mad props to Public Eyez, who performed too, and also my friends who were there to make more noise. Haha... Then i did Poppa's Got A New Wife. I dont know what i was thinkin, but i pulled tis hot girl up to twist wif me. And she danced well actually. Then i closed my set wif Same Women Again, and i kinda feel like the song is gettin slower, but i'm glad the audience loved it. And yeah, tat was one of my best set ever. Thank you so much to all the people who made it possible and supported me. Woo hoo!!!

I told someone i'm gonna try hit 60 by the end of the year... Haha! Sorry dude, my next show is in December. But atleast i'm near rite? Thank you for ur support :)

Thank you Beats Society and Music For Good for letting me perform at The Waterfront, Esplanade. Its was one of the best 15 mins i've ever had.

The place was great, the crowd was fantastic, and the sound system was awesome. Thank you to all the people who came down to support the event. Thank you Imran.

Last Saturday, The Funkus won 2nd place in the Youthopia Xclaim best of the best competition. I would like to thank everybody who came and supported us on tat evening. Thank you to all who came and make the event happening. Thank you to the organisers especially Ida for choosing us to perform on tat spectacular event.

All the other performers were great. B-Quartet was my fav ofcourse. They are so freakin talented, nuff said. BFC and BAD did a great set too. Congrats to RE:MIXED for winning 1st place.

Last Sunday, i had one more show at Kembangan wif The Funkus, and it was a great one too. Thank you to the BS team for making the event possible.

Years have pass, and its bloody fast. I performed at Platform 2 back in 2002 and in two weeks time there's Platform 5 and its already 2005. It feels like i only did P2 a year ago, but its already almost 3 years now. I'm thankful to those people who helped me thruout the years, especially to those who came to support me at gigs and those who keep giving me opportunities. Thank you so much.

My next show is on Platform 5, held at Planet Paradigm, Level 6, Singapore Shopping Centre, on 22nd January, Saturday. Time? I dont really know wat time the show starts, but i will update once i know. I produced for some of the crew who are performin on tat day such Will's Invasion, Tha Theori'Z, Vella Tri and Sticky Icky. The event went smooth. The crowd attendance was very disapponting. Where were all the people who promised me tat they will come? I should maybe write Loose Words part 2 for ya'll. Oh well, I had fun performing and making silly jokes. Feelin Kumar for awhile, if u noe wat i mean. Hehe...

Trivalation performed first. I love their songs, especially the 2nd one. I asked Rendy wats the title of the song, and he told me tat the title is 'Pet'. Hehe! I dont know if he was really serious, but it was dope. U guys gotta check tat shit out. Next was me, i did my set like i always do. I did two songs, Freak Funk and Shape of The Sitar. Then, next it was Xstatics and FBI. They did Intergalactic, Got ? and Fifth Element. Yus aka Shinobi was very hyped, i love the way he delivered his rhymes; dope! Then next was Imran. U noe lah, no one can sing like him.

And ofcourse, the main highlight of the day, Triple Noize. I seriously think tat the songs in the 2nd album are better than the 1st album. U gotta get tat CD. They performed Noizy FM for their opening ofcourse. Followed by Return & Response, Kulfi, History Was Made Here ft FBI, Roc Ya Body, and a few more tracks. But my favourite was Happy Days. Nice! Afer the whole show ended, Triple Noize gave away freebies to those who contributed to the album. Tat was nice too.

Yesterday i was featured by Xstatics for their set at the HipHop Dance competition held at Far East Plaza. The dance comp was ok. Some of them cannot make it! (C.M.I)... B.A.D got thru to the finals. My PC crashed on Wednesday afternoon, and its caused alot of damages. All my fruityloops (flp.) files are gone. My songs and others too. From Tolerance to The Ink. All gone. Its damn irritating cause i need all the tracks for some upcoming projects. But its my fault too, i should have backed up my data.

I would like apologize to these people first...

Duo Phonicz - I'll have to redo ur upcoming beats. I'll do it asap. I'm really sorry bout wat happen.

Nthral - I passed u copy of the track already in MSN, but unfortunately, the flp file is gone. So i might have to redo the whole thing. Ur beat is the most difficult one i've ever produced. Seriously, no joke. If u dont mind the flp file, then i wont need to redo it, but if u do, i need more time. Bout 3 weeks. I'm really sorry.

Will's Invasion - I have two more beats due for u. One (Cant Resist) the flp file is gone, but i can redo it for cause i remember how the sequence is like, but i need some time. The other one, the sentimental love track u wanted, will be done once i finish wif Duo Phonicz's. I'm really sorry.

Actually i'm tired of watching Yadin's The Unheard Recording ad, so i jus wanna say some shit.

I'm not performing for the time being, or maybe for a very long time. Plus, i think other hard working people deserves the better gig. I dont think i'll be gettin anymore gigs, especially after not appearing at Youthopia.

I'm exempted from NS people, which is a good thing, cos i'll have more time for music. But i think i need to get a proper full time job first, cos i really wanna go back to school. But its kinda hard u noe, cos i have some dangerous medical condition. I might jus go poo poo in the toilet, and then the next minute, people start singin, "we miss u FreAkyZ! R.I.P!"... Na mean? But aniwae, i think i shouldnt be wasting my time much on rappin and hip-hop, which i am totally not good at. Btw, i've missed out alot of things in the scene, and too lil time to catch up.

The Flag Day gig went smoothly last Saturday. The sound system was quite bad, but it was all good. Its GOOOOD!!! Hehehe... I did my shortest set of my entire hiphop career. I only took bout 9mins. Jeez! Niwae the crowd attendance was good, but the participation was a bit disappointing. Maybe b'cos some of the performers were a bit slack. My man, Apiz Ilm did his set good. His first song was really impressive. But on the second song he choked a lil bit. But its ok, he's good. Marzel Z's beat giler lah!!! Psykelecticz was good. I would say they showed some crews who came to the scene before them, tat they're much better. I was really lookin forward to Krool's set. I wanted to know wat he had in stored for the gig. But his CD was corrupted and he couldn't perform. Too bad dude! Next time burn use Nero software. Hehehe! And some people really dont know how to bite do they... Shhhh! "They bite! Tats not polite!"....

I saw some people at the gig whom i know, and i seriously think some of them change alot. Some dont even wanna say Hi no more. Haha... its really funny u noe. Bitter people! Jeez!

Apiz's mom thanked me for helpin her son. Tats the best thank you i ever had from anyone. Thank you too Apiz's mom. Hehehe...

The fire in me is burning again after last Saturday's gig. I'm hungry for more gigs now. Cant wait to take over the mic again. My next gig will be at Youth Park on 4th Sept. There will definately be much better sound system there. Its gonna be hell of a GOOOOD time! Woo hoo!

My next gig will be on 7th August, which is next Saturday. Really excited cos i'm performin at the venue which i had my best gig ever, Beats For Peace. But 'When Gigs Turn Bad', its really bad. Sigh~

After 7th August, my next following gig will be on 9th September, held at Youth Park, which is confirmed i think. Lookin forward to tat.

I was lookin at The Beats Society blog and i was thinkin bout how great it was last year. Performing every single month. 2 to 3 gigs every month. I met alot of people last year. Some good, some bad. Some happy, some sad. Some who are still my friends and some who are now becoming my enemy for no reason. When there's someone who love u, there's someone bound to hate. But its all good.

Last year, not all my gigs are great. I once had to perform infront of 8 people only. Jeez! Its was disappointing, but it was all fun memories. I even had to perform at the library, infront of few people in half darkness, bad sound system and did i mention few people. I even made Imran come up on stage to sing for the audience. hehehe... Luckily, Im is a sport. I was part of LMGB once, but we're no longer active together. Everybody have their own things. AsOne family was with me at the start, helping me, but then most of them went missing later on, except for X-statics and Fundamentals. Imran went thru alot wif me since Platform 2. He's been my guidance, inspiration and even my influence. He was like my manager. Switch, shared alot of stage wif me. We performed together alot of times. I was basically like his hype-man. But i'm a lil too hype. Hahaha! We were even chose by TripleNoize to perform at Countdown 2004. Tats madness. Its all memories. And its all good.

I seriously dont know if there's gonna be a HipHopFest tis year. I was seriously lookin forward to tat. Freshnite is no longer going to be held. There seems to be like no annual event for every emcee to be lookin forward to. HipHop in Singapore is beginning to change already. Sigh~

Oh well, i've decided to have a change of plans. Now it news when there is news. But Friday will be the day i must update tis blog, and tats for real (Cos its my off day). Anyone who wants to make plans wif me, i'm free on Friday only, afternoon onwards. Tats all for now.

I dont have any updates for the time being, cos i've been a lil busy wif work. But stay tuned, there will be more updates on FreAkyZ and The F Word soon. :)

I'm joining forces wif The Beats Society. So watever news u see there, will be posted here too. Hehe... Jin's arrival in Singapore has been postponed so the 15th July wont take place. I bet those people who pasted the photocopied flyers all over Tampines must be really upset. Jeez!

My next confirmed performance will be on the 7th August. I'm goin to do some new tracks. So u guys gotta check it out. One of them is called Tolerance. Track produced by me and my master, J'y'Reste. U noe sometimes u really got to admire ur own work, u noe wat i mean... Hehehe...

I'm goin to make it a habit from now on to keep updating my blogs, especially tis one, The F Word. The Killer Gerbil movement really inspires me alot. I'm thinkin of The F Movement. Hmmmmm... Ok, back to music. Due to my new job, there is not much progress in my music. But, from tis week onwards, i'm startin a new plan for The F Word. Yey!

Every Friday, (feelin everything starts wif F), i'm gonna update tis blog bout FreAkyZ or The F Word. There will be more music on tis blog, for sure. For start, i will put up my old tracks like the ones i did live at Beats for Peace. One of my best gigs btw. Then later later i will put up new tracks tat i've recorded at home. I didnt take much pics at the last part of the show, cos i was busy hosting. Yes i was the host again. But tis time i feel a lil bit better than the Semi... hehehe... cos i think i did a good job. But i think overall, Platform 4 was quite an upset.

Too Phat didnt turn up for the event, jus like Phlowtron two weeks ago. The reason is totally unknown. FashionJoove members must be disappointed, cos they were told tat they could meet and greet them. I'm glad my siblings didnt come along, or else they will be upset too. Niwae, Switch did the opening. Its was great to see him in action again. He gave out copies of his first single "No More Mr Nice Guy!" on tat day and I personally think tat it was a good idea. Way to go! I performed after Switch. My set was ok. I think i was a lil bit loud on the mic. Then X-statics, did their set. I think they are my favourite crew at the moment. They have the best rhymes and beats.Azrael is like Kanye West now. His beats are mad lah! Bless performed after a long time, and as always, he's good.

Triple Noize was invited to perform after the organisers found out tat Too Phat might not be coming. Now tats bad of the organisers. Triple Noize did the "Yes! Yes! Ya'll" song and i think its was dope shit! I love the hook alot. Fee said something like "You better mean it when u say support the locals" and i noe it was meant for Fye from Fyewerkz, cos earlier on he said tat on stage, feelin like Abg Hatta, tat we should support the locals or in other words buy his stuff. OK, we get it. So i think Triple Noize was mad cos they were not invited to perform at P4, until the day before the event. Hmmmm... Politics, u noe wat i mean. But i must say tat Triple Noize is losing fans in the scene. Some people left Youth Park when they did their set in the evening and tat sucks ok. I was on stage wif them as part of Beatboxx, their very own production team. But u noe, sometimes shit happens. Triple Noize is still great to me.

The rest of the performances were Trilogy, Pakar Irama, Public Eyes and BFC. The best we have in the scene, wat more can i say. All of them were great. But i think Trivilation should have performed for the Final rather than Semi. Then it would seem complete.

The competition kicked off wif Corrupt Ethic. They did some medley of songs, and i think it was a lil too much. Lesson learnt, never mix too many songs in 4 minutes. Next was G-Feminiz. I think the small lil cute Mia was great. The rest of her crewmates were not tat good. They probably blamed it on the sound system, which i think was terrible, but they were given second chance to perform again. It doesnt make much differences anyway. Ninja Muscle was next. As usual, some people tell me tat he's weird and all, but i personally think tat he's got his own style. His rhymes were straight up, it was dope and it replys to watever people have been saying for the past few weeks, and tat is, "i'm not copying FreAkyZ"... Now tats tight. But his chorus was kinda wack a lil bit. Not harmonize actually. But he was dope! Tats it! Next was Nthral. I personally think he was the best among the 6 finalist, cos his diction was very clear, chorus was so catchy and the beat was dope. The beat was self-produced by him, and it sounded like one of Dre's production. Seriously. I sang along wif him during the chorus. Can u believe it? Yadin was up next and i think he was good. The same Yadin tat performs everytime. No comments. Psykeletics was the last contestant. I think they have a nice song, but there was not much impact in it. Wah, feelin The Source jap!

And the winner for the Finals was Ninja Muscle, while Nthral came in second and G-Feminiz came in third. Congrats to Zainal aka Ninja Muscle. I feel a lil bit proud tat he used my beats for all three rounds, but i think his ryhmes was the main factor in winning the competiton. Way to go dude! And thank you for representing The F Word. Hello people!

First things first, i know some of u are mad at me for closing tis blog before. But u noe shit happens. It took me some time to realise wat i did before was damn silly. I almost gave up the thing i love the most. Jeez! I love performin. And i love makin music. I love entertainin people. I think tats my gift. I can never give up tis shit. Seriously. Whenever i see someone perform, my hearts say, "hey, i can do better!"... Hahaha! U prolly think i'm boastful, but no, tats wat drives me to keep doin more shit. And i admit, i aint tat good. But i noe i've got people out there who will always be there to support me. So i dont wanna disappoint them and also myself. Im still gonna be here no matter wat happens... Promise!

I personally think i suck at hosting. And i bet lot of people will agree wif tat. But the gig went really smooth until the BBoy battle turned ugly. They started fightin wif each other jus bcos they couldnt take turns to do their moves. Now tats very childish. And some people are jus so freakin annoyin tat they have to act like they are some big star in the scene. Jeez! During the fight, alot of people left the hall, so it was very disappointin after tat. The people who fought have no total respect for the other performers. Dry Peanutz had to perform infront of a few people who are totally not payin attention to them, and tat sucks ok. I have been in tat situation and i noe how it feels like. Tats when u feel like givin up everything. But Dry Peanutz is a great crew, and much respect to them.

The people who qualified to the Finals are Yadin, Nthral, Ninja Muscle, G-Feminiz, Corrupt Ehtic and Psykeleticz. Duo Phonics forgot their lyrics again like in first round. Syarif was good, but his lyric were not tat original. So tats why he didnt qualify. I personally think tat Nthral was damn good tat day. But i really think he needs to produce his own beats. Well, good luck to all the finalist...

Overall, i think the gig was ok. I had fun hosting. Some people came up to me and said i did a good job. But i dont think i wanna host again... hehehe... after wat happened last Saturday. Well, i'll see how.

I'm performin on tis Sunday, 27th June 2004, at Youth Park. The gigs starts at 3pm and ends at 9pm or maybe earlier. Other performances by X-statics, Switch, Pakar Irama, Bless, Public Eyes and not forgettin Too Phat. Do come down ok. Thank you.
